Heterogeneous Aerial Robot Cooperation for Inspection and Maintenance
There is an increasing interest in many sectors in the automation of inspection and maintenance (I&M) activities through the application of aerial robots. In the last years, various aerial robots have been proposed for contact and contactless inspection. However, I&M in industrial settings and infrastructure involve complex tasks and procedures that can hardly be accomplished by only one autonomous aerial robot. This lecture focuses on how heterogenous autonomous aerial robots with different capabilities can be coordinated to accomplish complex I&M missions and will address its opportunities, challenges and a set of potential applications.
