Biography
Petar Kecman completed the XII Gymnasium in Zagreb, after which he obtained the qualification of Fire Technician at the National Firefighting School. He is an active member of the Volunteer Fire Department Ivanja Rijeka, which operates under the Firefighting Association of the City of Zagreb, and is employed as a firefighter in the Public Firefighting Brigade of the City of Zagreb. In the Zagreb Firefighting Brigade, he currently holds the position of Fire Group Leader and is a member of the specialized team for high-angle and confined space rescues, as well as urban search and rescue operations.
In addition to his professional duties, Petar is a student at the College of Safety Studies. He has been a lecturer and presenter at several professional conferences and training sessions in Croatia and abroad, including notable events such as the Professional Firefighting Conference in Opatija and the IEDO Conference in Paris (International Emergency Drones Organization, Paris 2022).
He is one of the pioneers in introducing unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) into the firefighting profession and currently serves as the National Coordinator for drone operations in firefighting.
