Biography

Marko Car holds a Master’s and PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER) at the University of Zagreb. His expertise encompasses robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), aerial manipulation, and compliant control. In 2018, he conducted research as a visiting scholar at the United States Military Academy, West Point, focusing on a heterogeneous robot system (UAV-UGV) for collaborative payload transport. The following year, he spent several weeks as a visiting researcher at Imperial College London, concentrating on developing an origami structure for UAV contact sensing and collision protection. Throughout his career, Marko has contributed to numerous international, national, and industrial research projects. He was an integral member of the LARICS team, competing in prestigious robotics events such as the European Robotics Challenge (EuRoC), ERL Emergency Robots 2019, MBZIRC 2020, and MBZIRC 2024. His academic contributions include authoring or co-authoring 16 conference papers, 3 journal papers, and 2 book chapters.
