Biography

Antonella Barišić Kulaš, M. Sc. is a researcher, Ph.D. student and project manager at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (UNIZG-FER). She obtained her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from UNIZG-FER in July 2019. From 2021 to 2022, she served as the lead researcher on a NATO Science for Peace and Security project at the University of New Mexico (UNM), USA, in Professor Rafael Fierro’s lab. In 2023, she was a visiting researcher at the Czech Technical University in Prague, working in Professor Martin Saska’s lab. During her studies, she held key leadership roles in the student association eSTUDENT, serving as a project coordinator and team leader. Antonella is the Chair of the Organizing Committee for DroneDays, an aerial robotics end-user workshop. In 2018, she became one of the first recipients of the Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems (LARICS) scholarship. In 2019, she was awarded with the Rector’s Award for Individual Scientific Work. Since 2024, she has been part of the Committee for Ensuring Equal Opportunities at UNIZG-FER. Her research interests lie at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and deep learning. As part of the LARICS team, she was responsible for Challenge 1 of the MBZIRC 2020 international robotics competition. Her contributions extend to the EU-funded projects EKOKOMVOZ, VirtualUAVs and AeroSTREAM. She was part of the UNIZG-FER team that won the MBZIRC 2024 competition in Abu Dhabi. In 2024, she co-founded Odonata Technologies, an aerial robotics company specializing in vision and drones for industrial environments.
