Review of recent LARICS research
The Laboratory for Robotics and Intelligent Control Systems (LARICS) was founded in 1996 as part of the Department of Control and Computer Engineering. This is the first FER laboratory to be given the status of a research laboratory in 2011. Today, its members are four professors, 2 postdocs, 11 PhD students and over 50 FER students on the undergraduate and graduate level. The LARICS field of expertise includes the following areas: Integrated robot and process control, intelligent control systems, production system control, multi-agent autonomous system control, professional service robotics (agriculture, construction), autonomous unmanned aerial systems control, biologically inspired robotics (humanoids, walking robots), heterogeneous robotic systems, applying robots in autism diagnostics, applying AI in robotics, and other related fields. The Laboratory is constantly oriented toward cooperating with the industry and during its existence its members have worked with many industrial partners from Croatia and abroad. LARICS also coordinates and takes part in many international research projects (FP7, H2020, NATO, EOARD, FORD), as well as nationally financed projects. They also give a lot of attention to bringing science closer to the general public, particularly by taking part in various events (such as the European Robotics Week, University and Faculty fairs etc.). Since 2017, the Laboratory has been giving out three scholarships per year for students who are confident that they will continue their education by enrolling into a PhD studies programme and by working with the Laboratory. LARICS founded a spin-off company called Romb Technologies in November 2017 with the goal of commercializing the results of several successful projects (AMACAL, EC-SAFEMOBIL, SITEH-EUROIMPIANTI).
This lecture will be held in Croatian.
